" I just received the UQ128 and the unit cannot see the WiFi/hotspot from my phone. I have the Samsung Note 4 the unit will see my home WiFi and the WiFi of my neighbors but not the phone." Joying head unit can not find his Samsung Note 4 hotspot.

Luckily, our customer Robert.d.Michael made efforts to help us find out the reasons and the solution to solve the tricky problem.

For the reasons:

Newer wireless routers, access points, and phones/hotspots now have the ability to broadcast their wireless signal on either the 2.4 or 5Ghz radio frequency. The Samsung Note 4's default hotspot setting is to broadcast on the 5Ghz radio frequency. It appears the wireless receiver in your android car stereos do not have the ability to receive the 5Ghz radio frequency only the 2.4Ghz. Fortunately in the Note 4's advanced hotspot settings one can change the radio frequency to 2.4Ghz.

For the solution:

I changed the advanced settings on my Note 4 to broadcast the hotspot on the 2.4Ghz radio frequency now the car stereo will tether to phone's hotspot.

Today, I will tell you how to make them work again.

For the Element app:

Please use the password "126" to enter the factory setting, then go to the "other" page to make it "RGB LED" clicked like my below image shown, then "Apply" it, "Exit", "OK". The head unit will reboot again, then you can find you Element app to change the button backlight.

For the Volume Knob:

Please use the password "126" to enter the factory setting, then go to the "other" page to make it "Wheel3" clicked or un-clicked to check it, then "Apply" it, "Exit", "OK". The head unit will reboot again, then you can find you amazing volume knob working again.

How to solve your #WiFi problem on #Joying #Android #Headunit?

If your Joying android headunit can not connect the WIFI, please try to upgrade your Android system.

a: go to this page and select the suitable and newest download link for your stereo, make sure download the 

correct file for your headunit: http://www.carjoying.com/Joying-blog/12.html
  
b: after download the file like joying android MCU and update files, then just copy Two files into SD card 

without any folder, insert it in GPS(map) Slot.

c: then you need to long press the knob for 10+seconds, if your headunit is tablet without knob, you may need a sharp stick to press the Reset hole. 


d: after then, please choose the from sd card and clear all to upgrade your android head unit.

e: Please pull out the Sd card from GPS slot when head unit updated to boot, and you have to wait for it to 

start.

But unluckily, even you have upgraded our Android system, the problem is still unsolved.

Then you can proceed our Customer feedback method：

“I tried to update several times from sdcard and clear all, the procedure 

worked but the problem was not solved.

After using “wipe all data/factory and cache reset”, Wifi worked again.”
